From Breakdown to Stillness: How TCM and Acupuncture Quieted My Mind and Healed My Soul

Meditating is often used with acupuncture to promote deep healing.

I remember the day I first tried to meditate. It wasn’t in a peaceful room with incense and mantras. It was on an acupuncture table, during a moment of absolute collapse. I had just found out I needed to get divorced. In one instant, the life I had built over 18 years vanished. I was overwhelmed—by fear, grief, anger, and a deep, soul-level panic:

What the F* am I gonna do?

My mind couldn’t stop spiraling. The fear of what people would think. The confusion. How did this happen? What did I do wrong? What didn’t I do? The voices in my head were deafening. I begged for silence. I prayed for a moment of stillness.

And then, as those tiny acupuncture needles were placed with intention, something shifted. I felt myself breathe. For the first time, I allowed my body to sink into the table. I asked my mind—my heart, my nervous system—to let go. I invited the needles to reset me. And they did.

In that moment, I experienced true stillness. A deep quiet. Not the absence of pain—but the beginning of clarity. That was the first time I understood what it meant to meditate. To quiet the thoughts. To realign my Qi. To tap into a deeper strength that lives beneath the storm. Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches that emotions, when unprocessed, can become blockages in our energy. But healing is possible when we give ourselves space—to listen, to breathe, to be still. Just allow the acupuncture needles to quiet your mind.

Taking time to quiet your mind and rebalance your energy is preserving, preventing, and prioritizing to your physical and emotional health for your future! I am grateful for the gift that Traditional Chinese Medicine has given my physical and emotional health.
